A country boy at heart, Rod was born in Mackay, and moved to Brisbane to play football professionally for West Panthers. Rod joined the real estate industry in 1990, after a successful fifteen-year career in sales and marketing throughout Australia and the United States.
Rod quickly took a leading role in commercial sales, acting for such high profile clients as Coles Myer, Caltex, the ANZ and the Civil Aviation Authority. He became the company’s Queensland marketing manager, building relationships with corporate customers – customers who demand excellence in every step of the negotiation process.
In 1992 Rod was promoted to Chief Auctioneer for our previous franchise group, handling commercial, industrial and residential properties. It’s a position which requires extensive knowledge of every aspect of Real Estate and an ability to think fast on your feet. Rod has a great regard for the industry, and believes in giving something back to it. Rod has served as marketing manager for the Housing Industry Association and as National Chief Executive Officer of the MSAA.
Rod and his team operated one of PRD nationwide’s leading Real Estate offices at Carina, which turned over in excess of $10 million each year and managed properties in excess of $225 million.
Rod is now one of the owners of Realty Pacific Real Estate located at Capalaba. Rod knows this area well and has lived and worked locally for thirty five years. He has raised his own family here, with his daughters attending Norman Park Primary School and Coorparoo Secondary College. Rod served a term as president of the Norman Park District Swimming Association. He has strong involvement in rural property, both for recreational and business purposes. This suits his down-to-earth approach, and he brings the same laid back, straight-talking attitude to his daily residential real estate activities. In family life and in business, Rod believes that it’s energy and enthusiasm which will get the results you’re looking for.
